Buying an existing business or franchise is interesting and you could visualize what it would be in 10 years if you purchased it. However, more than your expectations, you’ll also need to invest some time and effort to know more about the business’ quality and capability in the future.

1. Fits Like a Glove
When purchasing a business, it is important to consider that it should have some connection to the kind of work you’ve done in the past, skills you’ve developed through a hobby or you have learned about during college. Buying a business that you have no knowledge about could cost you. For example, if you’re a graduate of fine arts, buying a construction business would likely become catastrophic.

2. Proximity
If you’re looking for a business to buy, start close from home. If you’re currently employed by a small business you like, you could always ask your owner if they are considering to sell their business. You could ask friends or business associates who know some similar businesses in the market. Explore online advertisements, newspapers, trade associations, real estate brokers and business suppliers as well.

3. History and Finances
Of course, you want to make sure that before you purchased the business, it was already generating enough for itself. Research about its history and finances, particularly cash flow statements, balance sheets, accounts payable and receivable, employee files and employee contracts. Research also on some contracts and leases, and for some past lawsuits it might have.

The Internet introduced a way for people to communicate with each other easily through the use of a computer. It also provided many jobs to people who could not afford to go to their offices but they have a fast Internet connection. The wide use of the Internet gave way to the birth of mobile devices that could access the Internet. Businesses are taking advantage of marketing their products and services in this format. However, would it work for the better in the future?

Many experts say that the future of Internet marketing relies on mobile devices; sooner or later, people will only use tablets to access the Internet, work their jobs and communicate with people. The mobile devices of today seem promising with specifications as powerful as modern day computers and laptops. The new designs, specifically futuristic touch screen and voice recognition capabilities make them far more efficient than a computer.

Marketers are looking at mobile devices playing a greater role because people provide information about themselves through their mobile devices, which includes their location and the things that interest them. The mobile market allows experts to “target” the people who will possibly take advantage of their products and services precisely.

Location-based services enable users to narrow down their search for a nearby restaurant, which helps them find the local market competing in the Internet. Mobile devices also allow for easier ordering, queuing and inquiries between business proprietor and customer.

Indeed, the future looks bright for mobile marketing and many experts advise that business proprietors make use of such.

Personal injury claims can cause you great pain and suffering and can have you lose your wages. A personal injury lawyer can help you get all the compensation you deserve from your pain and suffering to your emotional trauma and other damages. If you intend to find an effective personal injury lawyer, here are a few things to remember.

1. Location
You and your personal injury claims lawyer will need to discuss your claim in person, and the best way to do this is to find a lawyer or a claims company near your area. A lawyer who is only a 30 minute to an hour drive from your home is a good choice. While they can always updated you on your claim through the phone or through e-mail, a personal discussion is what makes most claims successful.

2. Registered Professionals
Find a certified lawyer; always ask for their credentials, the cases they’ve handled and ask for the numbers of their past clients to see if they are really valid professionals. You could also call the Ministry of Justice for validation. In the case of claims management companies, ask for their Claims Regulation Number to ensure the Ministry of Justice regulates their activities.

3. Years Established
For any personal injury claim, you are looking for a professional familiar with the law system, has experience in cases probably similar to yours and can advise you on what your statements should be. An experienced personal injury lawyer can assist you in knowing the rough estimate of your compensation because they can compare it to their past cases.

UK high street bank Barclays faces record fines for PPI compensation reaching up to £2 billion as PPI claims against the bank continue to pile up. The Financial Ombudsman states that PPI claims can reach more than 165,000 they estimated this year.

Other high street banks such as the Lloyds Banking Group now has a bill of £4.3 billion for PPI claims. HSBC has another £1.7 billion. RBS stayed within its £1.3 billion for this year.

Barclays is now trying to restore its reputation amidst the scandals it has found itself in. Recently, Barclays was the target of U.S. regulators who have discovered it “rate-rigging” Libor for their trader’s personal gain, which cost them millions of pounds in fines.

During the first half of the year, the FOS has reached around 2.2 million claims, prompting banks to increase the bill of the payment protection insurance compensation package up to £10 billion, more than a 200% increase in their initial deposit for the compensation. The FOS also estimates that they will be receiving at least 1,500 claims a day.

Natalie Ceeney criticized banks for delaying and inconveniencing customers who are claiming PPI despite the fact that the High Court has detailed that all PPI repayments be returned to customers. Making the process difficult, Ceeney states that banks are making it harder for themselves blaming the customer for mis sold PPI.

People’s actions leaning towards claims management companies to help them reflect a huge mistrust on part of customers against their banks. Reputable CMCs, such as www.PPIco.co, have aided customers in the process of claiming. While most CMCs are blamed for bogus claims, Ceeney states that this is how far people would go to finally settle their scores with their respective banks.

A leader is somebody that everybody in the team looks up to. He or she serves as the founding stones of a glorified building. A team leader is somebody who can think of a solution and make best efforts of the talents and abilities that every team member has. But what really makes a good team leader is that they know how to be a servant as well.

A leader is someone with initiative. However, a leader is not just absorbed by ideals and morals, and have his or her team do all the work as he or she designed. A leader knows when to get down and dirty with their task and help out their teammate. A good leader is part of a team.

A good leader is somebody who studies the strengths and weaknesses of his team and makes good use of them. He or she understands when things go wrong and focuses on how to get the things right. Good leaders also do not focus on the negative aspects of people in their team. He or she embraces them and makes them as effective as they can possibly be.

A good leader is someone who knows compassion. He or she knows when to celebrate with their team, when to be serious and when to let go and accept whatever comes. He or she believes in the strength of their teammates. Most importantly, he or she knows that they are not leaders, but someone who just fills the job; else yet, they are still servants serving their own teammates.

Internet marketing is a great boon to many small businesses. For a small capital, the returns on advertising campaigns double each month with wider market audiences and more patrons for small businesses. However, with the many mobile computers such as smart phones and tablets going around, advertising through mobile Internet can be a bit different. Making efficient use of these mobile advertising opportunities is a must. Maximize them through this list.

1. Locality

Internet advertising is centered first on the geo-location of the business. Mobile Internet advertising allows businesses to target audiences through the use of geo-location technology. Businesses can target certain people using their zip code when they are near the business establishment, or when the population location is related to their business.

2. Pay Per Click

Clicking advertisements have guaranteed a good commission payment for many small businesses. However, clicking is not so possible in mobile Internet marketing. Many users may mistake clicking a mobile ad instead of an actual advertisement of the business. This can lead to wasted efforts on mobile advertising. Be sure to consider more than just the click and know some solutions that could help resolve this issue.

3. Mobile Applications

Many app developers who release their software on a trial basis allow advertisements to go around while the application is being used by the end-user of the mobile product. Mistaken clicks and selections can increase the per-click charge. However, this can be annoying, so be sure to strategize with the developer where to place the advertisement effectively.

4. Platforms

A mobile computer or smart phone can run through a variety of operating system options. Be sure to consider whether you’re advertising on an iPad, an iPhone, an android-operated device and more. This helps with advertisement performances and helps with product support for customers in the mobile marketing grid.

The business world becomes open only to people capable of negotiating their businesses, priorities and objectives properly. However, it is not that easy for businesses to agree with each other. Objections will always arise. The power of one to react professionally stems from how they can handle the following details to an objection.

1. The Other’s Viewpoint

Each person is unique, and the same idea also applies to business. Every business has different profits, capabilities, shipping schedules, delivery dates and other details. If somebody objects to your new methods or if your retailer complains about your delivery schedules, always try to see their viewpoint first before stating your own reasons for the delays or delivery performance. You can ask “why do you think our delivery time is too slow?”. In this way, both viewpoints from the argument are given and evaluated equally.

2. Avoiding Objections

In a professional sense, objections and arguments are a waste of time. So before entering any partnership with a business, make it a point to list down your business’ objectives, motivations, advantages and disadvantages. Also, write down the possible objections that other partner companies might have against your product or service. In this way, your company can easily handle objections at the shortest of time.

3. A Yes or No

Turning your counter objection into a yes-or-no question is a simple way to respond to an objection in the best way possible. For example, “our deliveries may not always get there on time given that your location has routes with crammed traffic, you (pertaining to other business) understand these with your delivery vehicles as well correct?”. This is an easier method to end an argument and come to a resolution.

One of the most helpful skills a person can develop is to negotiate prices. Bringing down the prices of certain products in certain stalls can help you save much money. However, negotiating for prices is a very difficult skill to master, but here are a few tips to help you get on track to properly negotiating prices.

1. The Business Location

Everyone knows that it’s a different thing to buy from a mall, a retailer and a flea market. The location of the shop where you purchase your product is important in considering for negotiating prices. Malls and official retailers usually pay taxes and rent to the mall for their shops, which means that why their prices are high is because they pay for these items. A flea market or a location outside of such establishments that sell the same item at a higher price can be bargained with.

2. Product Quality

Inspect the product carefully and assess if it is worth the price the seller claims it to be. If it does meet with your standards, start off by chipping the price a little. For example, if it costs $10, ask them to lower the price to $8 if the product is really worth the price. This will help you get the product to at least drop to $9 or $8.50. If the product quality is poor by your standards, suggest getting it at $7 and explain the flaws in the product. Be careful about this strategy; some sellers might have short tempers and might argue instead of making price negotiations with you.

3. Package-Dealing

A seller can sometimes lower the prices of their products if you purchase more than two items from their shop. So try to buy as much as you need from the shop and negotiate a lower total price for both given the quantity you’ve purchased. Sellers are likely to concede to your offer depending on the quantity of your purchase.

4. The “I’ll Get Back to You Later” Strategy

If you’ve given your bargain price to the seller and they still disagree, tell them that “you’ll get back to them and just browse other shops”. Oftentimes, the seller would sell the item to you for the price you wanted. They might call you back. However, this strategy doesn’t often work, unless you can gauge that the seller had a slow day that day.
